ParticipantOn certain cycles, the machine doesn;t load. It starts the cycle but no water filles. I can use cycle 6 on a cooler wash but this isn;t much good.
Can anyone help? Is it repairable?
Cheers

Hi there,
Make sure that the water taps to the machine have not been turned off.
Does this machine have a hot and cold fill pipes?.
If so its quite possible that a water valve is faulty.
Unplug the machine before investigating.August 7, 2007 at 6:36 pm #223710wd16ba

Thaks for the reply. I’ve had a look previously and there doesn;t seem to be a blockage. Its only running of hot water fill. The cycle that does work, works ok. It seems to happen on the longer cycles only.

This machine is fitted with both hot and cold water inlet valves. Both must be connected for the machine to function correctly.

Hot water required for some hotter washes. Cold water required for cooler washes and all rinse and dry functions.
Unless the hot has been connected to the cold valve, of course…..

I haven’t just connected this. It was working correctly for ages. It has since stopped working correctly. I don’t think it can be how its connected as that hasn;pt changed.

Have you checked? You ask for info and it’s a two way thing. Short of paying for my professonal services, it’s up to you to do the checking and respond accordingly.
At a guess, you have the hot connected to the cold valve, and now one of the solenoids has failed (it’s a multi-way valve). This would cause (for instance) the machine to fill for wash on a 40c cotton wash, then stop when it got to rinses; or even the conditioner rinse.
If you have got the hot on the cold BTW, you are rinsing your laundry in water up to 65c in temperature – this will lead to colour runs on dark clothes and laundry coming out like cardboard.
Please actually check and let us know.
