ParticipantHi All and Merry Christmas,
Another post on my WDI12C….
– Type 22052
– S/N 60605 0424 0Its 15 months old and the dryer function has never seemed to work; after a 2 hour cycle even a relatively small load is still wet.
– the dryer gets warm (not hot)
– the drum spins OK
– the drain pump works as I’ve just replaced it 🙂Are these washer dryers just not very good or is something wrong? Where should I check next?
Thanks for any help on this,
Chris (in rather damp clothing)

I had the same problem, found the suction ductwork for the fan blocked with fabric fluff the heater was red hot but the fan was not moving the air to the drum due to the blockage. Just cleaned the duct and fan assembly and away it went!

Thanks for the replies – better for me to reply late than never!!!
After having our first baby and drying clothes the traditional way during the summer I’m back trying to get our dryer sorted again. I’ve done some more analysis and here are my findings:
– I’ve checked all hoses and condensing chamber and there is no blockage.
– blower blows all the time.
– it seems water is making into the condesing chamber as the waste water pump is purring away. The problem seems to be with power to the heating element. Power goes from a sensor (directly next to element in element housing) and then onto the element. I guess the sensor is an overheating trip. So,
– element has 240v for first 20 mins and gets hot (and so does condensor etc)
– no power to element or even to sensor (thermistor?) for remaing 140mins. So it doesn’t seem as if that seonsor is cutting of the power to the element.Should the element be hot for the full 2 hours?
Any ideas what to check next?
Are there any other sensors that I need to check? Thanks, rotis23

The sensor directly next to the element is about the size of a 2p coin with 4 connectors – power in and power out to element. This one doesn’t get 240v after 20mins.
There is another sensor (about the size of a 5p coin and with a single plastic connector 2 wires) in the rubber shaft leading down to drum at door opening.
What do these two sensors do?
Thanks again for any help.
