Hi, I was after some help in identifying the problem with my Smeg WMI14C7-2 making a loud grinding like noise when on full spin. After trying to search for this problem I have checked the drum for anything stuck inside the holes, there’s nothing caught between the drum and seal. I’ve come to the conclusion it is bearings? if that is the case would anyone know what ones to replace and how many of each I would need? Any other input is appreciated.

you will need both bearings plus the water seal and lubricant for the seal

you might need the tub half gasket but a lot of the time these go back and seal but you never know

you will have to check the drum shaft for wear and corrosion first

site shop seems to have parts
i think water seal may be this one but you need to check

the 2 bearing are fairly generic and shop should be able to point towards correct ones

Thankyou Dave I completely overlooked the tub seal, I’ve put a message to the shop so hopefully they can recommend the correct bearings, what lubricant is used? and would you recommend official parts or compatible parts? are they just as good?

as long as the bearings are a good make and not a cheap chinese one it will be fine

    as for grease

Brilliant, I’ve ordered the real ones as directed by the shop along with the grease you suggested, thanks for your help and hopefully I can get it fixed
