Hi, I hope somebody could help me.
I was using the machine this morning and while it was spinning, the fuse for washing machine went down. I turned it back on, and the lights came up again and said it’s still 38 minutes left to go.
The machine made some noise, however, it did not spin afterwards and just finished.
I tested the machine without putting any stuffs later and it filled and drained water ok, but the drum did not turn nor spin.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
The machine just passed smeg’s one year warrenty in June.
I am annoyed as this machine was not that cheap and we’ve been only using for a year.

This is a very complex machine, as it belw the fuse/trip I would fear the worse as at that age i doubt it is someting as simple as the motor brushes. This machine has at least 2 modules which can blow after a motor problem. Would really suggest expert help on this. If you do look yourself, ensure it is unplugged before removing any panel.

    Thanks for your advice.
I contacted Smeg and was given a number for an engineer, I haven’t called yet but it’s not good to hear it’s a very comple machine…
I assume it would be pretty expensive to repair.
Do you think it might end up cheaper to buy a new cheaper machine?

No, the parts are not that expensive compared to the replacement cost of an intergrated machine. Get it looked at first before making such a descision.
