ParticipantHi
I’ve had this dishwasher for over 3 years, and until recently, it was excellent, but lately it’s been washing quite badly. I’ve read the advice on loading, detergent, cleaning filters and spray arms etc.
The thing is, I’m not, AFAIK, doing anything differently to how I used to do it. I’m using the same brand of tablet (yes, I now know from this site that powder is better, but as the tablets used to work, this doesn’t seem relevant), and am loading in the same way. I’ve always been very careful to clean filters, I regularly use dishwasher cleaner, and I clean the dishwasher with a cloth to make sure the seals etc aren’t dirty. I’ve always scraped dishes (with a spatula, so there’s hardly anything left), but I’m now having this problem even when I rinse them (which, IMO, makes using a dishwasher rather pointless, and it says in the manual you don’t have to) or use a prewash (which I’d never had to use before – obviously, I add the detergent after the prewash). I’ve taken out all the spray arms and checked them by filling them with water – it comes out of all the holes, so they seem OK, and obviously, I’d checked the arms were able to rotate freely. I’ve followed your advice about cleaning in the sump, but I can’t see any black tube – I can feel that there is some sort of channel leading into the sump, which faces the back of the dishwasher and with much contortion, I’ve managed to feed a flexible brush into that, but nothing’s come out.
The only thing I haven’t done that’s listed in the manual (which I’ve practically memorised by now) is cleaning the water intake filter – there doesn’t actually seem to be one. or at least not one that looks like the pic in the manual. There is a sort of bulged area about an inch from the connection, which is held together with two screws – should I dismantle that?
I would be grateful for any advice.

If you pop the door open quickly (early in the wash, when the water is cold), is there water spraying from the top and bottom rotors?
