Smelly Diplomat Dishwasher

Hi,

I know that dishwashers are meant for cleaning dirty plates etc. but ours seems to kick out a real smell after about a day of being emptied!

The dishwasher was already installed when we moved into our house, and all I know is it’s a Diplomat.

Have checked to see if there is anything unpleasant stuck in corners and have removed filter and cleaned out a little bits of sludge etc.

We rinse dirty plates first, so they’re pretty much clean when they go in, but after about a day it really starts to smell. Is this just something we have to live with or could it be something else that is not visible.

Any advise would be great.

Hi Richard,

Check your drain, I’d bet it’s fitted on a spigot off the kitchen sink and that you’re getting dirty water coming back down that which is causing the smell. 😉
