The ice in the ice bin of my Whirlpool S20E RSS2V smells and tastes of onion. I’ve dismantled and cleaned the bin and the rotating ice breaker assembly but can’t get rid of the smell – any suggestions?

Also, I was dumb when I dismantled the ice breaker because I didn’t take a photograph to show the arrangement of spacers – I can probably work it out by the witness marks on the shaft, but if there’s an assembly drawing I’d appreciate a link to it.

Nobody has offered any suggestions but I’ve solved it now so maybe the answer will be useful to someone. Scrubbing the “bin” with bicarb and then with vinegar made no difference but an soaking it overnight in a strong solution of Milton sterilising fluid has solved the problem completely.
