Smelly Zanussi ZWF1621w

Hi there

We have a Zanussi ZWF1621w about 15 months old, the inside of the rubber between the door and the drum has gone black and slimey. The machine also seems to smell quite a lot although the washing is coming out clean and fresh. We have done a 95d wash with soda crystals but that does not seem to have solved the problem.
What can/should we use to clean the rubber, and is there anyway to prevent the smell from coming back we alway try and leave the door ajar so that shouldn’t be causing it. Apart from this smell the machine seems to be very reliable and “touchwood” has not given us any problems

Any help advice gratefully received.
