ParticipantHi guys,
SMS40T32UK Dishwasher
I’ve read all the threads in detail but can’t find an answer.I moved the machine between properties to our home yesterday (adding this as it might be relevant) it was working perfectly previously.
What’s happening is that I power up, set it to cycle, the first thing is the high pitch whirring noise, then water starts to enter and fill (I have the left-hand side panel off) while filling the ‘check water’ light illuminates and stays on.
After about 30 seconds, the water stops, it starts to empty, then stops, empties again once or twice for a second or two, then stops totally with the ‘check water’ light solid.
I have:-
1. Removed the main grey filter and washed it out.
2. Removed the pump cover (white) removed the tiny bits of fluff and checked the impeller is spinning freely.
3. Replaced the white cover making sure it clicked into position.
4. Checked the water feed hose filters.Water appears to be moving freely into and out of the machine but what do I know eh 🙂
Thanks in advance for any help I may receive. And as a thank you, anyone who helps me solve this will get a web marketing review for free on your website and Google local listing as that’s what I do for a living, GMB and SEO.
happy days.

Moderatorwell as far as i can see from the model number ( incomplete) solid light may be a fill problem. it does not matter the machine seems to fill but if its not detecting it then it will fault out
take off left side and in the plastic water unit there is a switch that counts water in. Bosch part no 611317 (https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/611317-bosch-dishwasher-flow-meter) take the wire off and plug it back on a few times and see if it works then.
if not inspect the wire to make sure its intact and after that you could change the whole switch or buy a reed switch and solder it in.cant promise it will cure it as its one of those parts that you have to change to find out
