I am just about to leave home to attend to my last ever ‘official’ service call.

38 years self employed and 55 years in total worked with hardly a day off sick. 🙂

The time has finally arrived to hang up my screwdriver.

Mixed emotions really, still enjoy ‘fixing’ things and thankfully still in good health.

Time to tackle the huge list of jobs my wife has drawn up for me, spend more time with family and basically chill.

Will still pop in here to keep an eye on things. 8)

Wishing you a very long and healthy retirement Jim you certainly deserve it. Just think you will be able to visit Old Trafford small and large ball sports a lot more now 🙂

Bye Jimbo, thanks for being there all those years. Despite not seeing each other often its always nice to see someone I actually know at meetings- you will be missed but maybe we can get you to turn up still? A few retiree’s do come. Maybe we could have a retirement corner even Alex might turn up!….. reserve me a seat, cant come soon enough. enjoy.

I have two phone lines at home and have never given my mobile number to customers.

I will be cancelling the number I use for business shortly. As much as if am grateful to all of my past customers I don’t want to spend hours on the phone with people pleading with me to ‘just do mine’. 🙁

Never thought I would be giving up work before giving up playing squash but had a very enjoyable game last night, don’t think I will get back to the five or six games a week of 25 years ago though, need a couple of days recovery time these days. 🙂
