Hi Bill
Ken has explained in his opening post the problems and judging by the operation of the site at present, the upgrade to the new server has not taken place.
Only site admin of course have the full information and Im sure will update us all soon 😀Greg

Quite fast just now, still the odd time out. Just been using a few net tools.
Well what are Sunday afternoons for. 😉
http://www.all-nettools.com plus whois look ups. List two servers ns1.laser.com & ns2.laser.com . The former appears to be in the US and I can tracert & ping in seconds. IP 216.167.90.224. On the other hand ns2.laser.com, IP 195.173.62.81 appears to be in the UK, pings & tracerts both timeout to this server.
Guess we are still on the US based server ATM, although both appear to be run by Easyspace.

UPDATE (Tues 13:55 hrs Dec 5th)
Tracerts and pings (whatever they are?) aren’t doing much down here in darkest Hampshire. All I get is:
“Internet Exporer cannot display the webpage“
..and whenever I try posting something “no post mode specified”
I’m painting the spare bedroom at present so I’m off to watch paint dry instead of this lot! :rolls:

There were a few problems apparently Martin and, TBH, this hasn’t been my main focus the past few days, I do have other things I have to do as well. 😉
However the ISE website has been migrated as that was easy. UKW, not so simple.

UK Whitegoods migrated to the new server at midnight last night successfully.
There may be the odd bug due to the switch, like Martin noticed some missing posts and there’s little that we can do about that I’m afraid. 😕
If you spot anything else please let me know.
We also have some email issues this morning which should be resolved during the course of the day due to the change.
Site’s just a little bit faster though. 😀

Congrats Ken, yes indeed lightning quick this morning! 😆
You’re prolly aware but i’ll point it out just in case….all replies to a post seem to come up with DEBUG but they still get posted 😉
Just a suggestion….the resurrected posts could be opened for replies as i’m sure the posters will remember the jist of what they said and can then add to the post again?

KeymasterYeah I know about the error and I’ve already been onto Li about it this morning. There was some security upgrades on the server as well and I think that’s what’s causing it as we have had a similar issue on another site which was caused by that.

Top marks Ken, it’s working brilliant and has turned UKW back into a useful tool once again. Turned our endless nights into clear daylight even….(….thinks..steady Martin, don’t overdo it, early days and all that! 😛 )

KeymasterIt’s pretty good. 😉
Li mailed me this morning to let me know that they’ve not run any optimisation yet at all either, so it should get still faster.
