    Hi,

We are seeing continual and rapid solid ice building up at the top of our Bosch chest freezer, model gta26901. Have tried reducing food content & completely defrosting, but problem continues. Seal appear to be intact. Thought freezer was not level (has recently been resited), but adjusting level just moves location of ice build up. Do you have any suggestions?
    Many thanks
    John

    Hi

Ice or snow build up around the top inside of a chest freezer is normal. Reducing the amount of food in it will in fact cause it to increase.

Air contains approx 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} water and warm air rises, every time you open it more warm air goes in causing more ice build up round the top.

If you are only using 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the freezer capacity then fill your milk cartons with water and leave to freeze, then put cap back on and fill the bottom with these and put a layer of cardboard on top to lift your food up.this will make the freezer run economically and reduce the amount of air within the unit.Less air = less water = less ice.

    Bryan
