    Hi Folks,

I think that i might buy a new laptop this weekend. I have been using a Compaq 2100 Presario for the last few years, but I have not been impressed, poor battery life etc being an issue. Before that I had a Sony thatI was quite pleased with , so I was erring towards another Sony.
PC World have the VGN- NR32L/S for about £450 quid. I am particulary interested in speed of recovery from hibernation mode, I use Vodaphone mobile broadband, and want to be back on the net as quickly as possible. Anyone any experience of this model? All i need is to be able to access suppliers websites”on the move”, and of course access UKW. I have also been impressed by my sons Macbook, circa £700, but dont want to spend £700 if £450 will provide adequate performance for my needs. Also, is there a way of “doing away with” the log on menu which pops up every day on the Connections website? Gives me the pip keep entering that info.
    Regards,

    Mike.

    Re: Sony VAIO Laptop

Used a Vaio VGN-FJ1S for the last two years but only for home use. Excellent quality especially the x-black screen. Had aproblem after 6 months with the wireless card and the Sony aftersales service has to be the best in the world. Phoned at 7pm on thursday night, a dhl courier arrived 9am friday with a packaging box which had been sent overnight from Antwerp. The laptop was on a workbench in France on Monday morning and back at my house 9am Tuesday. A phone call from the same lad I had talked to originally on the Wednesday night to see if everything was OK. 😀
With only really using it at home I cannot say how robust it would be out and about, use an Hp for that and it does feel more robust.
