Parts Advisor/Warehouse Supervisor

This role is to assist the service technicians and customers in purchasing parts and accessories as well as the general day to day operations of the spare parts warehouse.

The position is a full time one and based at our premises in Kilmarnock.

Job Duties

Taking and dealing with spare part enquiries both at the premises sales counter and over the telephone.
Tracking all incoming and outgoing spare parts as designated.
Locating available parts when out of stock.
Packaging and shipping parts and completing the appropriate record keeping.
Referring to parts manuals (both hard copy and electronic format) to identify exactly the right part(s) for the make, model and year of appliances.

Job Requirements

Parts counter salesperson should have knowledge of general IT, inventory systems and appliances.

The ability to work well with the public and being able to balance multiple customers at a time is important along with a good telephone manner.

Good organisational skills as well as a firm understanding of appliance components and their association with appliances is useful when working in the parts department. A background in the appliance industry or in a mechanical industry is highly advantageous.

On occasion the position may require you to work extended hours, evenings and weekends to achieve department goals.

Salary Range

The average annual earnings of parts counterpersons are approximately £17,000 to £25,000. Earnings vary depending on experience.

Physical Demands

Working in the appliance industry can be physically demanding. This position requires mobility to move around our warehouse and to carry heavy and awkwardly sized items. A reasonable level of physical fitness and flexibility is therefore beneficial.
