    Hello,
I just moved to Europe and this question regards a European Bosch model SPI5430/02. Now I have this used washing machine that worked fine for awhile, but now it is not letting in any water when it is supposed to.

Instead the machine just makes a whirring noise, which I take to be the water pump trying to pump the water into the spray arms from the reservoir on the floor.

What I have found out is, that if I manually pour a pot of water into the machine at the stages that it is trying to draw water, ( such as the pre-rinse stage, then the washing state, etc.) That the washing machine will complete the entire cycle and wash the dishes.

This model has an aquastop attached to the water source. Given that the machine is able to wash dishes if I manually add water, does that make the aquastop the most likely problem? I can get a solenoid repair kit for not too much.

    Thank you!

No, it’s 50/50 between that and the water inlet matrix being blocked, tripping the water block in the process. Real swine to work on these little old beasts, best of luck with that wherever in “Europe” you are? 😉

More specifically I have moved to Germany. 🙂 Thanks for the quick reply. I will try and see if I can find where the water inlet matrix is. Any suggestions on how to check if it the water inlet matrix is clogged?

Ideally it will be the aqua stop since that is the only part of the machine that is easily accessible!
