ParticipantGood morning all,
I have a Lamona 8670 which I understand is a re-badged Beko.
The dishwasher fills, empties and appears to heat as normal. The filters and spray arms are all clean but the spray arms are not moving at all.
I would guess it’s the part 1760400100 that sits below the feed for the spray arms. A search confirms that this is a 3 way diverter valve.
I don’t know how to access the valve or test it so can someone please advise me what to do next?
I have both sides off and the front bottom plate and can use a multimeter to check components.
Thank you in advance
Richard

first thing to check is for blocked filters, blocked arms, and has it taken in enough water

Hi Dave,
Thanks for quick response. The filters and arms are clean (and weren’t too bad anyway). It fills with water to just below the door level so looks good.
I have taken the bottom off now and am going to take the diverter off to see if any obstruction. Failing that what’s the best way of troubleshooting the exact problem?
Thanks

Took some finding but that part is here:
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/1760400 … rter-valve
Looks like the usual simple electro-mechanical valve affair so it should either be open or closed circuit I expect, assuming it’s not jammed or something but, I’d doubt that.
Asides that, the motor not pumping possible. Which looks to be a magnetic motor so, no capacitor on it to fail.

Thanks K,
That is the part. I’ve now taken it off. It was clean and no obstruction. I’ve manually turned the disc valve between the two openings and one position makes it open circuit and closed in the other.
I’m getting 13 ohms across the motor terminals. What else is there to test? Can I simply put 240v to the motor to see if it will turn?
Thanks
Richard

Live testing is not a thing you want to be doing and you risk burning the motor out running it with no load, apart from the obvious dangers in doing that. Like, of death!
I looked through the tech on it but there’s no resistances given I’m afraid.
Fault guide on the value, check for normal operation then check main board. Not exactly helpful.

Thank you K.
No, live testing is not an option really especially given it’s location underneath the dishwasher and your comment about danger is understood.
I’m going to manually put the valve in the position to supply the arms, refit to the machine and that way if the valve does not move then it is likely to be this part that is faulty. If the valve rotates then it could be the stage before which tells the valve to supply water to the arms.
If the valve is not getting 240v to switch the water to the arms, can someone please tell me what might be stopping it? For example, will the dishwasher check first that the water is at the correct temperature/level or is it simply at minute X of the wash cycle spin the arms? Something else?
Thanks
Thanks

Seems as if it’s connected to the main board so, if it gets no power then it’s either the board (relay or something on it most likely) that’s faulty or the wiring to it.
If it returns though you know that’s probably good.
If it doesn’t you’re not really any further forward.
If it detects a problem then it *should* throw up an error code.

Got to be the diverter valve or board then I’d imagine.

OK I’ve reattached the diverter valve. I flicked the door latch closed so I could observe the arms. They were still not turning UNTIL …
I pulled the door wide open!!
As soon as I opened the door wide open the arms started spinning. Close the door a little and the arms stopped. At least the pumps are working fine but can someone please shed light on what is causing the problem?
Thanks
