ParticipantHi all 🙂
I have a problem with my SR2028, everything is working fine (touch wood) but over the Xmas a bottle of milk leaked on the inside of the door (approx. 2 pints).
When we discovered it had leaked we cleaned it up but i must say there was no evidence of the 2 missing pints anywhere apart from a small amount of milk on the shelves and bottom floor of the fridge.
We cleaned everything up but over the last week or so the room where the fridge is stinks.
We have moved the fridge, cleaned the floor and everywhere else but the stench is still there.I took the grey plastic vent thing off at the bottom front of the unit and smell became worse. We cleaned the plastic vent but i have a strong suspicion the milk has leaked into the bottom floor panel of the unit, behind where the plastic vent goes.
I can’t find any way to gain access to it to clean it, is there a way?
If so any chance of some instruction please, if not any ideas what i can do?
Many thanks 🙂

Participantwell, thats interesting
look behind the fridge door seals, it just pulls off if you want to scrub it, under the various baskets etc…
the only other thing you can do as a consumer is to pull the fridge out and remover the rear access panel, plug out and check in there for signs of spillage
other than that, it could be behind the evaporator cover, and that eill unscrew and come off, but its quite a task if your not that way inclined
good luck, its a pig to remedy, believe me

I’ve done everything i can think of.
There is no smell coming from inside the fridge and we have moved and scrubbed everywhere surrounding the fridge.
One thing very apparent is the smell became stronger the day we moved the unit.
It’s that bad it’s looking like i’m going to have to scrap the fridge freezer and buy a new one 🙁
Can’t really afford to do it but i definitely cant live with the stink and the wife constantly whinging about it, lol.Any suggestions for a replacement and what to do with my old one?
