ParticipantI went to the above dishwasher the other day. Customer says that when she uses the auto cycle, after about 30 or 40 mins the cycle skips about 45 mins of its cycle. I told her to use one of the normal programs ie. eco wash and it works ok as normal. It heats up, empties fine and washes fine. This is an elderly lady who lives by herself and she is very carefull how she loads it and she rinses plates etc very well before she loads it up.
I understand there is some kind of infra red sensor that is used with the auto cycle on this type of Bosch dishwasher but not too sure how it works as this is my first one. A friend in the trade told me that it’s more than likely the pcb causing the fault, but he also said it could be the sensor which apparently is a pig to change.
Any ideas guys and girls ?
Many thanks.

The time displayed in the window at the start is the ‘default time’ and depending on the soiling level (Turbity Sensor) will lengthen or shorten the cycle accordingly. So likely as not there is no fault in this case?
Question: Does the ‘Auto Cycle’ complete correctly? Are the dishes clean and dry?

Rob.The sensor in question is the tubidity sensor which will adjust the next wash time for that cycle the next time it’s used – So wash times may vary (can go up & down like a whores drawers sometimes).
Your mate could be right about the PCB – However it sounds to me as though the Turbidity Sensor may be faulty (I’d fit an “Instantaneous Water Heater (Element)” myself as it comes complete with it & at least you know it’s all new & it isn’t that much hassle to change it – Just take the tub off (It isn’t as bad as it seems honestly – Just look at it logically)
Hope this helps – If not PM me & I’ll help guide you through it

Thanks for your help with this one guys. Perhaps if I tell my customer to try and do a dirty wash in it (no rinsing before hand at all) and timing it in comparison to her usual type of wash (almost clean before they go in) might be a good way to test the Turbity sensor????
Might this test work?Regards
Rob.
