Afternoon, i’ve got a hoover hnf 7148 and the motor has real trouble turning over with washing in it.
so i tested the whole thing (motor) and everything is within the correct readings. i then fitted a near identical motor and it turns perfectly, but the readings from the second motor are the same as the first motor. so any ideas to the stalling issue?

Old motor: current increases under load?

You could always check the current under load of the new motor, then stick the old motor back in and compare. 💡

More likely the armature breaking down under load rather than the stator I would think.

i did that already, same reading. i assumed from the beginning that it was the armature, just a bit puzzled with the identical readings though. guess age is the factor in this. many thanks

Yeah tell me about it. I’m still drawing the same power but oh my aching bones. :clown:
