Standard sizes and variations?

I want to put a freezer into a place where I’ve restricted depth. A freezer
with a depth of 500mm to 510mm would be ideal. Are these available?
A built-in unit without the attached “kitchen unit door” would be OK,
I’m not all that concerned about the look of the thing. Some sites I’ve
looked at have dimensions, butl seem to specify different depths for the
same model, which is a bit of a nuisance!

If this is under the worktop size you are looking for then Lec produce a small one the U5026W which is a mere 56cm deep but it`s only a nrrow 48cm wide so limited storage. All the others seem to range between 59 and 60cm. As for built under the depths are mainly 54.5cm, if using without the fitted door you will probably need to fit a handle, as the handle would be on the timber door under normal circumstances.

Hi Don, thanks for your reply. The Lec U5026W would be absolutely
*wonderful*, if only I could fit it in sideways! I have found a thing
called a “smeg VR120B”, which 365electrical say has dimensions
(WxHxD) 58cms x 81.5cms x 50.5cms. This is nearly 300 quid, though;
plenty enough IMO. That’s a built-under, although I really don’t mind
whether it’s built under, free-standing under counter, or what – as
long as it’s not far off 500 mil! Anything would do, but it can’t be deeper
or I’ll have to make a big hole in the wall! Any other ideas? I suppose
I could put a freezer outside, but that’s not remarkably convenient!

Sorry to say but it`s 54.5 on the depth. Hit on the technical drawing link here http://www.smeguk.com/CucinaSelection/P … eq=3518729

You may have to consider another location or have a work top model like the Lec U5006W which has sizes of H53cm W50cm and depth of 51cm.

Tap, tap, Google, Google… um. It’s rather tiny. Not everyone can fit in a
600mm worktop… isn’t there any call at all for reduced depth units?

Humph. After looking agaim, I find that I could *just*, if I do a little bit
of modification to the existing space, fit in *something* as long as it’s
less that 580w, 560d(max), doesn’t matter about h within reason. If it
was 550w I could put in a hod of coal next to the thing. Is there
something that would fit the bill?

Eureka cracked it :tup:, the best option I can find is this little beauty. Whirlpool AFB820/3 it stands 87.3 high 54.0 wide and 54.5cm deep http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/app.cnt/whr/ … subcatid/9. As you can see it is designed to fit into a housing at waist level so a little mod maybe required to allow air flow underneath and to allow the door to open. Don`t forget about the handle issue also.
