Statesman Dishwasher leaking

I’ve replaced the element on this dishwasher Statesman sfd1 2p. It’s a discontinued appliance but have the correct part (the Chinese one Midea)
but it leaks from the housing of the element which is connected to the motor.

I reused the seal (which seemed ok on inspection) but thinking it didn’t seat correctly when I attached the parts.

Is it just a case of making sure it’s seated properly or source a new seal?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
