Stoves 600DWT E4 error code help

Hi,

Got Stoves 600DWT Dishwasher and has been working o.k. for several months (came ‘free’ with new kitchen). When trying to use tonight, came up with E4 error code with beeps and drain motor constantly going.

Any ideas how I can fix this or what the error means. Looked in instruction booklet, but no mention of error code concerned.

Drain pump running constantly usually means that the flood protection system has been activated. Check tray below the machine for leakage. Draining will usually reset the system, but you will need to check in case there is a leak.

Power off when investigating.

Thank you for your reply. Started investigation – took side of dishwasher off to have a look- there is a little bit of water at the bottom tray of the dishwasher (approx 2-3mm), looks (although not certain) that is has been coming from a plastic overflow pipe that goes back into the front the dishwasher, as the metal below this pipe is getting corroded. Pulled out mains plug for half an hour whilst I was doing above, plugged back in and the E4 fault is not there anymore and pump doesn’t continually run. However, bit concerned that there is water coming into the bottom tray ? Any ideas?
