Stoves Cooker..cooling fan doesn’t run

Stoves cooker:- Mod 059850512
Theres a large 100 Ohm resistor in circuit with cooling fan, tested it & it seems to be open circuit. Whats the purpose of it & why would it blow?
Anyone got a part number?

Ive been to one open circuit. Ordered and fitted genuine one and it went fizz and exploded. Fan shorting?

I’ve had that before and it was the cooling fan that was causing it.

Worth trying a new one though I,ve had them die for no reason but check fan motor first

Ordered new genuine resistor 100 ohm 11 watt as per pic. Taking ages to arrive. Would a maplins 100 ohm 10 watt work? RS dont stock them at stockport. Customer panicking. Christmas dinner looming!

Think rs resistor would certainly do for now anyway

Genuine resistor arrived. Replaced the motor. Old fan was 5 ohms. New fan over 100!
