Is it a common fault on stoves gas hobs for the gas taps to seize up over time?
My wife has owned an ovencleaning business for 4 years. A couple of weeks after one of her employees cleaned a hob, a customer had complained a tap has seized. This is not a normal occurance after a clean and the hob was working when the employee tested the appliance before leaving the customer.
The customer has got a gas engineer going to look at the tap and I would like to be armed with some information as I know nothing about gas.
thanks for the replies stoves engineer visted yesterday and the householder rang to say engineer says its deffo been caused by cleaning products used when my wife asked to speak to the engineer the householder said he wasnt willing to speak to her or put anything in writing on the invoice :rolls: im now mulling over my next move but in the meantime if you have to clean a stoves hob dont get cream cleaner or water anywhere near the thing cause one of the five taps will seize two weeks later 😆 cheers cras
