ParticipantI have a Stoves 600GTF oven, it has a main gas oven and a smaller gas oven/grill combination above it.
When either the main oven or the small oven/grill are operated then they ignite ok and cooking can take place. The problem is that the spark igniters continue to spark and do not cease once the flame has been established.
Any one got any ideas?October 5, 2005 at 9:04 am #148879Bob Ashdown

As this is a gas appliance we can’t really tell you too much as legally it should be repaired by a Corgi registered engineer.
What I can tell you is that from experience it’s nearly always caused by the spark generator which is not a costly repair.
Repairs@ should provide an engineer for you 🙂

Participantthis is the electrode lead spade end that needs replacing the gtf is notorious for this problem I had a few every week when I worked for stoves,a simple repair which will still cost you about £80 if you call out stoves and only take 5 mins to do (and that includes the drink of tea)
Power off if investigating further.February 3, 2006 at 6:12 pm #148882Mark_Fixcookers

you will also need to replace the oven door seal, it will have collapsed, causing partial oxygen starvation to the flame by partially blocking the forward venting plate
and thus causing an unstable flame which drafted about by the stir fan will be melting the electrode leadFebruary 4, 2006 at 7:57 pm #148883jwd_73

other thing can be the pcb on the back or the pressure switch.
I seem to recall the gtf is a fan assisted gas oven, when the bottom oven is turned on the spark and the fan should start.
The fan creates suction behind the back panel which causes the pressure switch to operate which in turn operates the solonoid letting gas in. and once the the stat is heated the spark stops.I hated them customers loved them.
