Greetings – any thoughts on this problem please?

Have had the problem for some time but as its boxing day and I am bored and the oven is dirty I thought I would clean it and fix the problem.

The oven has a deflector/protector shield in front of the burners/ignitor/thermcouple.

If the deflector is in place then the oven will not respond to changes in temperature setting by increasing the flame size – the flame will stay low for ever.

If I remove the deflector then the oven behaves normally and the flame can be adjusted to high via the control knob.

The deflector does not appear to be touching any part of the burner/ignitor/thermocouple..

    Anyone got any thoughts???
