We went to a Stoves oven, model 059040401, which was overheating and cutting out on the main protective TOC. It turned out the cooling fan at the rear was not working, due to the fact the large dropping resistor that is in series with the mains supply and the fan, was burned out and open circuit.

It’s a high wattage square-cross-section resistor about 2 inches long. I have a number of these of various values in stock. Would anyone know the value of this resistor? (it is unmarked of course!!)

Failing that, where to source a new part (I have also emailed Dave in spares)

    Many thanks
