Stoves oven stuck on full temp

Hi, hope you can help me out here.

I have a stoves oven which once the oven is lit I cannot control the temperature. It either stays on what seems like full temp or I can turn it off.

Any idea what the fault could be and is it easily repairable by myself or would I need a tradesman in?

The oven temperature is controlled by what they call an oven thermostat. Whoever you choose to correct the fault that thermostat will need to be replaced.

The reason for the last question is that I had a similar problem with a Neff electric oven where the thermostat portion of the control had detached itself from the spindle so the setting on the dial was having no effect…..Just a thought; hope it helps

Reading the OP question again.

As no model number is given I have to assume it’s a gas oven, as such we would recommend a repair by a gas safe engineer as we are unable to advise on Gas repairs in these forums.
