Strange Indesit WE16 fault

Went to have a look at this today, eventually referred her to Hotperloni, machine is under 3 years old with five year parts warranty.
This machine has the small yellow digital display. Apparantly if the machine is set on a wash that takes approx 1hr 40 mins the machine starts, the display shows 1hr 40 mins and it goes on its merry way counting down the time to end. When she returns to the machine after say 45 mins, she finds that it has reset to 1hr 40 mins and appears to be restarting the wash all over again. If she resets then she can eventually get it to complete a wash.
Everything appears to function normally, no physical, electrical faults to be seen and, no error messages whatsoever. ❓
As I don’t possess that ludicrously expensive hardware key or the EMIT enabled laptop I cannot proceed further unless I throw an expensive module at the machine.

Anyone come across this fault?

will need a module kit, you get main board & eeprom, & display mod & eeprom , i fitted one today, im a indeshit franchise so luckly i have e mit and hardware key, there a pain in the ass. hope this helps for future , stew..

Thanks for reply, given the poor overall quality of these machines I don’t think I will be doing many chargeable ‘module kit’ repairs. It will however give me the opportunity to recommend something better. 😉
