Strange issue with I-DOS on Bosh WAT286H0GB

Hi, we have a Bosch WAT286H0GB that has worked well for a few years but has now developed a really strange issue. We have always used the I-DOS function and frequently use the “Mixed Load” program, however last week the I-dos button on the touch control panel (where you can select the detergent dose) sis dimmed as though I-DOS is “off” and pushing it to change the setting does nothing except beep. This “button” normally cycles through the dose level or flashes when the dispenser needs refillling. We ran a few tests and it appears no detergent is dispensing.

I would have assumed this was a fault with the sensor/pump in the detergent drawer, however on all other programs (e,g. “Cottons”, “Easy Care”…etc) we can change the I-DOS setting as normal – it would appear that only on the “Mixed Load” program that is stuck to “OFF”.

we have removed and cleaned the drawer but as the issue appears to be only with a single program can anyone suggest what may be going on here?

bosch are not very helpful in their manuals about this

it does say some programmes cant use I-dos but does not say which or list the programmes

it also says if you select certain things it will remember for all future washes

was wondering if you have set this programme to manual dose and you have to tell it to revert

only guessing really and i would ring Bosch customer service and ask

they do need to improve manuals to include more comprehensive info on these complicated machines

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply – the strange thing is we have had this machine for a few years and have used I-DOS on the mixed load setting pretty much all the time with no issue. It is only this program ithat seams to have the issue and weirdly the setting for fabric conditioner seams to work fine.

is there a way to “factory reset” the machine? Had a look online but can’t seam to find instructions for 5ge touch control model.

there are resets for various machines but dont know if it resets customer perameters

I would ring customer service and ask the question first
