Stubborn Balls

Hi, new to this forum. Need help.

My Dyson Purple Balled Hoover is giving me grief. I’ve taken it apart a few times to fix things and clean stuff. But one thing defeats me. The the mechanism that retains it in its upright position keeps coming off.

After wrestling it back into position a few times I’ve realised it needs a new torx screw (and washer?) to keep it in place.

Would someone please help me how best to dismantle the Hoover so I can actually release the ball so I can safely and easily screw the piece back in its place?

I’m not that familiar with the disassembly of that particular model..
Try a google on Manchester vacs..they can probably help you further
