This is a bump of an older post:

I think our Currys Essentials C510WM11 may have come to the end of it’s (economically viable)repairable life. Got longer out of it with the help of members of these forums.

Although replacing a Currys Essentials we are not constrained by similar budget this time. A top end Meile might not be justified by our use case, but prefer quality and repiarability over budget. Given we have got 13 years (albeit with brush replacment) out of a Currys Essentials we are not heavy users.

    Use case: –

Two adults, no kids or pets. We mostly wash cotton and technical fabrics on cold cotton or synthetic cycle.

Exceptional washing requirements would be: motorcycle all weather kit and sleeping bags, but this is rare.

Useful features would be: programmable start (so can time when wash finishes), half/reduced load (partner often wants to quick wash a few light items)

Don’t really care about: IOT network connection, blue tooth to phone etc.

Preference: simplicty, build quality, reliability, repairability

As I said not constrained by Currys Essentials budget. Also happy to look at graded refurb deals etc.

from re-read of older post suggestions were Bosch and Zanussi, that may well be the same. Just read post about sealed tubs, so maybe my repairability goal can’t be met.

    Thanks in advance.

Bosch will give you those features along with the Zanussi and AEG ( same company.) Miele are still the best but still have issues with service being restricted to their own partners and the cost of spares can sometimes be eye watering. The build is still good and you can now look up on https://www4.miele.de/msd/MSD#/start and find any model you are interested in to see if it’s a sealed tub or not.

Then there is the Ebac range which is a British brand of which are still mainly sold online Ebac which again cover your requirements but come with a 7 year warranty which is currently the longest in the industry..

Load options for small loads are a thing of the past on 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of machines these days, everything is now automatic.

Ebac, from we can gather is still a low volume affair and service is carried out by appointed agents. Not much if any data is out there yet on the brand or it’s machines. There dehumidifiers have always been top notch so the branding is there.

Just tried the Miele link which works for me, have you a blocker in place which could be causing a problem or try chrome if not already.

the link is just the parts catalogue

    https://www.miele.co.uk/c/spare-parts-and-accessories-24.htm

then click link for parts catalogue

then put model in and you can see how the machine strips down and the part that are available

Update: made a call on one. We’ll see how that goes. If I have issues I’ll report them to add to the knowledge base.

    Thanks to everyone for input.
