    Hi,

I don’t supply and fit many appliances but I do around 20-30 a year for a particular lettings agency who I must say are great customers.

I had to supply and fit an Indesit washer/dryer. All done in less than 48hrs from the first call. The drum had split. The seam was very badly corroded and it split along this but luckily it must have failed during a slow ish spin or wash. Minimum damage really. £2 coin size hole in tub and appliance shut down with water error.

Sorting my bill and advising the LL about the damage to the newly laid floor, I’m a bit concerned about what happens if it happends again. This time the damage was very limited but having seen some of the split drum failures it could have been a lot worse.

If the same happens again, who would be responsible, me or Whirlpool?
I do of course have full PLI.

New, I only ever fit new. In this case I purchased it to fit.

    Hi

At the first point it would be yourself as the customer is purchasing from you not the manufacturer. But bear in mind that this is a business to business sale which makes a BIG difference to their rights against you. It’s not classed as a normal consumer purchase.

    Thanks Bryan,

I never looked at it like that but you’re correct. I’ve only had one biggish issue over the years and Beko replaced the item in a few days. I still had to remove the old one and fit the new one but it was sorted quickly. Luckily, about the only item I haven’t supplied is a new dryer 🙂
