I have a Hotpoint DF53 Professional dishwasher and the lower spray arm falls off during use. Whilst not obvious, I guess the internal lip where it clips onto the support tube has worn, and maybe also the corresponding lip on the support tube.

It would probably make sense to replace both parts but it is not at all obvious how one removes the support tube as the lower portion extends below the plastic grill in the base of the appliance. I have tried removing the two self-tapping screws on either side of the grill but the grill still appears firmly attached. Moreover, there are also the water feed pipes in the rear of the cabinet that could be in the way. I am not where the appliance is located right now in order to check the latter.

Anyone know how to remove the lower grill and/or comment on of it is necessary to also replace the support tube of it it’s typically just the spray arm that wears?

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Support tube for lower spray arm Hotpoint DF53 Professio

DF53 Professional???? There is only the DF53 1st Edition in white. Made in France by Brandt many years ago, a lot of parts now obsolete.

The lower spray arm is still listed though, part No: C00210978, the lower tube is called a moulded hub, part No: C00210972.

It is so long since I worked on one of these and don’t remember changing the moulded hub. I think it may screw in but don’t hold me to that or force it. 😉

Worth trying the arm itself first I would think.
