    I saw this article on a Norwegian website (here’s a Google translate version) that an owner of a 6 year old AEG machine with a carboran outer tub, complains that the mount on the outer tub of his machine has broken, presumably because of wear and friction between the spring and the tub. The pictures in the article illustrate the problem pretty well.

    According to the article, AEG/Electrolux claims that this is not a common problem, but I thought I’d check with you guys here who have experience repairing these products. Is this a common problem on (some or all) Elux machines with carboran outer drums? And what about washing machines from other manufacturers using plastic tubs?

    AEG machines in the UK with carboran tubs have nylon sheaths over the metal spring hooks to prevent this type of wear. As in the illusration below: –
