Swan Tall fridge sr5040 full compressor water tray

Sister having problems with her Swan tall fridge type sr5040.
She noticed water on the floor and on investigation saw the evaporation tray above the compressor was full/overflowing.
Told her to make the fridge cooler so the compressor works harder so aiding evaporation. she assures me drain hole in the compartment is clear.

Any further input greatly appreciated.

Your theory on turning the temperature down is sound. During the summer months that is essential. Also preventing lots of frost on the evaporator would be to ensure all liquids and foodstuffs are covered. Check also that the door is closing correctly and there are no gaps from a worn magnetic door gasket. The defrost cycle and drainage channel are working fine by the sound of it anyway so that’s OK. 😀
