Hello everybody, I hope somebody can shed some light on this problem for me,…..I bought a Russell Hobs table top freezer (model rhttfzi), I bought it through a local auction house for £20, it was just what we needed as our main freezer is not quite big enough, and I must say it looks absolutely brand spanking new.
Anyway, I got it home and let it settle for about 4hours, pluged it in, then switched the thermostat to the middle setting..normal, immediately the compressor fired up and I thought great maybe an hour or so the inside will be cold, no such luck, the compressor kept going on and on and on, yet nothing happening in the freezer? in the end I turned it off as the compressor was getting rather warm, i have tried again a few times but allways the same, if I put my ear to the side of the cabinet I can hear a slight gurgling.
I would be very appreciative of your thoughts and advice.
    Kind regards
    Jimmy.

It could be the compressor not pumping or it has lost the refrigerant.
Both faults are beyond economical repair on a table top fridge or freezer.
    Not a DIY repair.
