    Hi all ,
Scouring for info on putting Tabletop freezer in a porch completely forgetting about this place DoH!!!!!!.

Anyways as per the title I want to put a Tabletop freezer in a porch , however it is glass on 2 sides , sun comes round about 1pmish . I’d like to sit it on top of the tumbler thats out there and am hoping this will keep it out of the direct sunlight. I’ve dug up info regarding the ‘climate class’ of such items but can’t find any info on this one:

    PROLINE PBF55W-U

Any advice would be greatfully recieved as to wethere it’s a no go or not , I’m doing check this afternoon to see where the sunlight falls . I’m pretty sure the ambient temp won’t be mega high . Does it just adjust the amount of power it draws or does it just pack up if it doesn’t like it?

    Cheers

    Hi Dames

If the porch gets hot by the sun and / or the tumble dryer is running the poor old freezer is going to have to work really hard to maintain a safe temperature. This in turn will reduce the lifespan of the product whether it`s a Proline or any other brand. I personally would not consider a freezer in that location if it were me but if needs must then you have to go with it.

User helo_75 if he sees this thread may be able to advise on the Proline product 😉

    Hi

The other problem that you will run into during the wonter is lock out where the temprature falls below 13oc and doesnt switch back on.the temprature should be kept above 13oc.
