ParticipantWhy is my hoover classica taking over 4 hours to do a cycle when it should only take one. It has recently been moved and now it does not work correctly.

Goldie,
Check all the obvious things first as it was working OK before 💡
Make sure the hoses are connected correctly and that the water is turned on and flowing. Check to ensure the drain hose is not kinked and is clear to pump out. Run a ‘test’ cycle without clothes to see it fill/wash/drain/rinse and spin.
Any problems?…Get back to us with more specific info (Including the actual MODEL Number – most important 😉 )

Hi Goldie,
One thing to check is that the drain hose is not pushed right down to the bottom of your waste trap. If it is this will cause siphoning. It is quite a common thing when people move the machine and then refit them . If your waste is connected under the sink then disregard the last advice.
Good luck.

ParticipantThanks for that we have checked that and no it is not pushed right down but the dial just doesn’t seem to be moving round we have watched it for a while and the dryer works fine.

Goldie,
It’s probably not heating on the wash cycle in that case? It will just continue to wash forever because the thermostat is not getting a signal to move on. Turning the dial to the start of the rinse cycle, it will continue normally I expect 💡
You’ve still not disclosed that all important MODEL number though ❓

ParticipantWe pulled out the washing machine and did a wash and it worked fine so we think the pipes must have been getting crushed when we put it back in so we ended up pulling out the dishwasher to make sure this didn’t happen again when we pushed it back in as it was quite a tight fit.
