Could we agree some tariffs for advertising along with the list or diagram of the sizes and where they will appear on the site so that I can crack on and try and sell some space.

Yeah, we need to do that when we’re all sat around a table and, whilst Kevin is away this week, I think it’s best left till his return. Then I’m out for near enough a full week so it looks as if Newcastle is the best bet, although Dave won’t be there. 😕

Sean, do you have a copy of the current PDF file with the rates on ?

I can email it over if required.

    Re: Tariffs

    I do Dave,

but I was thinking that as we are a year on and the site is about to have a major make over.

Plus the fact that I am under the impression that the P&G logo will appear on the new site giving it a much higer percieved qudos.

I was just wondering if the rates needed to be reviewed before I go selling (or possibly underselling) space.

Perhaps some views from our financial Guru might be in order here.

You’ve just given me another idea Sean for Sibson, ta.

Now I think is the time to review the ads and we’ve still to discuss the banners etc. on the front page at the meeting at the end of the month. Once we finalise that layout is the time to consider prising on the front as we don’t want it over-crowded. But that also means that it’s gonna cost them to have a banner on there.

The primary one for now, IMO, id the forums and Kev and I spoke about it a while back with Kev being his usual self and wanting to charge them all £1200 a year or summat IIRC. One-off, no monthly or quarterly payments.

It’s hard to guage this really until the “new” look of the site is done.

I’ll have alook at some other sites tommorow and see what they charge, I’m spending the day on UKW stuff as there’s loads I need to sort out 😉

And it’s pissing it with rain here, so sod off bloody caravans !

I have to go out with T and the kids today. 🙁

Thought it best to spend a little time with them.

    Re: Tariffs

I’ve never seen it costed this way either to be honest but I’m guessing that for your £950 your add will be viewed by 100k people then it gets switched off.

    Re: Tariffs

Whatever we charge we should get payment in advance, or no deal. Its a mugs game to give credit in advertising, just try putting an ad anywhere yourselves……

Having said that, i too think we should wait for the front page to be re done, and then assess the posibilities

After all we have much too learn and as Del says it will be easy to “undersell” ourselves

Yes I agree with Kevin in repsect to banner ads. Forums sponsorship can still be sold though.
