    Hello
I have a TDC 30 dryer, which drys, but when it tumbles there is a loud ginding noise. I think this is the drum rubbing on the frame. Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening? And also how to remedy?

    any number of reasons!!

drum shaft broken off…. broken fan…. noisy jockey wheel

look at the back, take off the little cover with 2 screws and see if anyhting has dropped off

I’m afraid the only real solution to this problem is to change the drum, the new ones have a different profile giving a bigger gap between back of drum and cabinet… sorry.

the tdc 30 is the earlier one, not the ctd type, theres no modified drum for that model

    Thanks for the scare helo_75.

No bits inside cover at rear, just some black dust! Drum still spins and can see where it rubs against frame/case! So still no wiser!!

With the mains plug removed, leave the small cap off at the back and with the lid removed try and lift the drum from the top at the rear, at the same time observe the small central shaft that is behind the small cover, it should not move up and down. If it does the a rear bearing shaft repair kit is required. not expensive.
