Ted
ParticipantMy TEBA hotplate has freaked out and gone on extremely HIGH permanently!. It melted the Rheostat knob on the way. I took it apart and it looks like there is a small metal link that has broken into which the knob would contol the temp. Is it possible to find a replacement part? It looks easy enough to replace if given the correct part. Also, Does anyone know where we could purchase new TEBA hotplates? The US apparently doe not have a supply chain at this point unless we are mistaken. The numbers on the bottom are 4P84, TOE5, and 09035S22/R1.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ted,
It sounds like you need an energy regulator. If you are in the US, I would suggest contacting http://www.repair2000.com who are doing something similar to us. They should be able to source generic parts for the regulator and the hotplates. The control knob is probably unique to TEBA – it may be the same as a UK/European model; however as you guys run on 110v and we’re on 230v we are unlikely to be able to directly cross refer to the models we are used to.A piccie might help – post it to admin@ukwhitegoods.com and who knows? One of the other engineers on site may well recognise it!

Thanks for your help Penguin. I’m not sure what you refer to when you say a “piccie may help”.
