ParticipantMy parents have a Teba Electric Oven which isn’t heating up though the grill is working fine. Could this be the Heating Element?? If so can you suggest a supplier & are they easy to fit? We are near Leeds.

It depends on the model Rachel, some Teba have fan assisted ovens others don’t but yes, it will be an element no doubt.
The model number could be anywhere on these but it contains “gb” in it somewhere so you know what you are looking for.
Alternatively, you should find an engineer here that covers the Leeds area 🙂

Good Morning.
Parent’s eh who’d have them!! It turns out it’s a CDA MX600SS Electric Fan Oven not a Teba. Do you know where we can buy the required part from to fix it & are they easy to fit?????October 28, 2005 at 8:50 am #152010Dave_Conway

Ah, this one isn’t as straigtforward Rachel.
Unless you have the means to test elements and thermostats then you’ll need an engineer (see link above) as this oven doesn’t have a fan element, although it does have a fan in the oven, the heat comes from an upper and lower element but it’s unlikely they have both failed at the same time.
If you do decide to have a look, please ensure the oven is disconnected from the power supply :zap:

Hi Dave, thanks for that, my parents are never straight forward!!! look like a job for the engineers, unfortunately there isn’t one in this area showing on the link, we’ll have to get a local company in.
thanks again

Uhm..
There is a 1.8kW circular fan element in this machine (looks similar to the Candy type with the pins coming straight off the turn). There is no part number listed for it but I’m sure there would be one in the UKW store to fit.

hi Craig
as Dave says there is not a fan element in the MX600SS even though on the exploded digram it shows one.Bob.

It also lists one in the technical information 😕
Who would trust a manual?

Hmm, leave it with me for a bit….
Nothing on the parts list, not on the wiring diagram but reading the user manual it clearly states it has one 😕
I’ll be back 😉

Dave
I’ve had another look and I think you were right the first time.
The function knob only has five settings: Upper Element, Lower Element, both Upper & Lower Elements, Grill and Lamp.
I think it’s safe to say that there is no fan element in this machine and that there has been a printing error in the spares manual.

hi rachel
easy way for you to check which element it is..
turn your oven onto the setting for the bottom heating and see if the bottom of the oven heats up,then turn the oven to the upper heat setting and see if that element heats up “” be carefull the element will be hot “”.
that should tell you which element has failed.
