Tecnik Integrated Dishwasher SN6TIE01GB/01, which must be about 8 years old, has recently developed a fault.

It ran a cycle OK, then when it stopped and we opened it, we found that we could not turn it off, via the button on the control panel as usual.

Next time it came to running a cycle with a new load, we couldn’t start it, becuase it was still powered on. None of the buttons would respond (power, start etc.).

Only after having powered it off at the mains, then back on, did it start a cycle once the door was closed. However, it keeps tripping the switch on the main fusebox. Also, it still doesn’t respond to any of the buttons on the control panel.

I’ve tried removing the control panel, to see if it has any damage in there, and there isn’t any from what I can see. I’ve also cleaned the filter (it was clean).

My question is this, should I be expecting to get a qualified engineer to look at this, or is there anything else I can check? I’m not interested in DIY on electrics.

You’re looking at a more serious problem beyond casual DIY fixing. Tripping RCD means that maybe the heater or motor has failed. Internal leaks are very likely, combine the two and it’s gonna be a costly fix for sure. Time to call out a local repairer to check it out.

Thanks Marting and electrofix. I’ll get an engineer onto it.
