    Hello,

I inherited a Tecnik SE6TIE2GB/70 with the house and it has a problem where it does a normal wash ok but then won’t drain.

I have managed to get the pump/motor out and connected it up to the mains but I can’t get it to fire up.

A couple of questions if anyone can help. Firstly, I assume this is both the circulationg pump and drain pump?

And secondly there are 4 contacts on the pump number 1-4 but out of sequence ie 1, 4, 2, 3.

Pin 2 was not connected. I assume the other connections are for a common and then 2 different windings and hence different speeds. Can anyone enlighten me further please.

Is there also a valve somewhere to direct the water either out to the drain or to re-circulate it.

I have stuck some mains on all combinations of the connections with no response other than a low murmuring but not even a twitch on the rotor. This does suggest it is dead. Any ideas or steers towards a cheap replacement? I have of course asked for a quote from this site but no response yet.

    Thanks everyone.

Putting mains power directly onto any component… bad, bad idea.

Asides from the obvious danger of doing so there are components that will not be happy about having mains directly on them. And, they may even get fried when you do that.

There is usually a drain pump as well, I’m not familiar with the model so I’m not sure if that’s a combined one or not. They are used but, not so common.

It should be this motor: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/266520-dishwasher-motor

If so, there is no alternative available I’m afraid other than under a Hotpoint part number which is still more expensive.

Nope, the drain pump totally separate and attached to the left of the sump……Maybe a classic case of barking up the wrong tree here?
