ParticipantDoes anybody know the easy way to change a sump hose on one of these machines?.
I know it sounds stupid but those who have changed one will know what I mean!!!!.
Thanks.

hi Chris,
Is this the sump hose with the white plastic collar that holds the top end of the hose in the outer tub? The collar obviously pushes into the hose from the inside of the tub during manufacture. I’ve not succeeded in getting the collar back in. The first one I did I left the collar out and debored the hose in place but it didn’t work. I was a Caremaik agent then & they changed the machine. On a recent one the hose was holed half way down so I cut it in half and joined the two halves using a plastic tube and jubilee clips. I don’t know anyone who’s managed to re-fit the original collar. If I got this job again & couldn’t do it as just described I’d turn it down.
Best of luck,

Thanks Geoff 😀 .
I`m glad you`ve said its fitted during manufacture as thats what I thought but could`nt believe that they would do something so stupid.
I`ve bowed out on it now and the customer has bought a new machine.
Thanks for your reply……….I feel better now!!.

Yes, they really are that stupid. There are a lot of these machines around now, The Tecnik 9260/9290, the Homark ones and no doubt a lot of other labels as well. Ah well, at least I’ve cheered somebody up today.

Spent nearly two hours today trying to refit that useless collar, luckily I had slack day.
I am now effectively down to four fingers on my left hand, that hole where the hose fits into the outer tank is like a razor blade 😈
For the record I ended up gluing the thing in place. Told the customer not to use for 24 hours, and not to put it on and leave it (see how confident I am).
It’s on an extended warranty and if it bounces then there is obviously a problem with the outer tank 😆 .

That’s what I did, glued the hose in place and left the collar out, but it didn’t work; the thing still leaked. These machines are being sold with the CDA label now; great news for all us CDA service agents.
It’s not only the sump hose, it’s the soap dispenser hose as well by the way. But cheer up, it’s not all bad news; to change the door seal you only have to take the tub/drum assembly out of the cabinet, you don’t actually have to remove the inner drum from the outer tub!

Yup it bounced, going back to the evil m/c tomorrow. 😈 😈
Time to write the bugger off I think.

Yes, I think so. Unless you want to strip the drum down and re-fit the collar from the inside!

KeymasterHmm, perhaps we should compile a list of model numbers and brands that use this obviously evil machine and charge accordingly for our services. 😉

Good idea; Here’s a start. The manufacturer is an Italian company called Siltal.
Tecnik: TKL 925, 9260, 9290.
Cookers: 800670, 800770, 800770-2.
White Westinghouse: 200670, 200770.
CDA: CI392, 393, 532, 592, 992, 993.May 10, 2006 at 10:01 am #126851dpm
ParticipantNow I haven’t seen one, so don’t shoot me; but is there any way you could slide the collar right into the hose, insert the hose into the drum, then force the collar back down the hose into it’s rightful position?

ParticipantRe: Tecnik TKL925.
I’ve no doubt that some people have managed to do it by manoeuvering the collar in from the outside like that or some other way, but I’ve tried all that and couldn’t do it. Perhaps if anybody reading this has managed it they could let us know how they did it!

Spent two hours trying to do exatly that!!!!!!. It is nigh on impossible, three times the little bastard just disappeared into the drum 😈 😈
BTW got the horrible m/c written off today as unrepairable 😀
If you ever get one of these awful god forsaken things, just write it off. It really isn’t worth the agro!!!!

ParticipantRe: Tecnik TKL925.
Rather than trying to drag the collar back down from the inside, why not turn it over and ram it up from the outside, ie in the “bowl” of the sump hose?
It’s late, I’m tired and had a pint. Or two 😀 . Don’t shoot me.
