    Hi All
Desperate for help, above is a built in appliance not too old.
Today found fridge and freezer not working but light in fridge is.
I hear no sounds like motors running etc.
    What could it be?
Any trades persons who ID fault and could give a repar estimate on a PM gratefully recieved.
Have defrosted etc and turned on no change, who repairs and supplies parts for this one?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Can you hear any clicking noise when you switch the f/f on every couple or so minutes?

Has it got a mechanical thermostat or is it digital?

If you cannot hear the compressor running at all then could be thermostat or the compressor related problem

You can have alook at the repairs section to see a local approved engineer

    Regards

Thanks for your reply, the appliance has a mechanical thermostat, (I think) no clicking at all only after power switched off. After about 5 secs I hear a click.

If it is the compressor do you or anyone else know approx cost to replace plus labour.

Cannot really afford new one yet is it a viable solution to repair?

Shame really machine only about 5 years old and no warrenty.

Does anyone know a contact address for TECNIK I might write to them.

    Thanks again, Steve

    Hi Steve,

Better to have it checked. It may just be the thermostat which is not expensive to repair.

But in worst case, compressors are not cheap. The cost would be £120-£150 for new compressor and labour(depending on the area)

Check under repairs section to find a local engineer.Worth paying call out to have it checked in my opinion

    Regards
