    Hi,

I have a Teka DW6 40 FI model that isn’t working. The user manual is no help.
The fault is it’s showing 3 led’s flashing (out of 6) and sounds and audiable alarm 10 times. The dishwasher will not do anything.
Unfortunatly I have tried to take photo’s of the display and information sticker on the side but the photo’s are not coming out very well. I have taken all the information from the sticker.
    Model: DW6 40 FI
    Voltage: 220-240v ac
    Freq: 50hz
    Heater Power: 2040w
    Max Pwr: 2150w
    Code: 40716045
    Type: FA03V0E0E00
It has 6 LED’s on the control panel (looking at a previous thread the model in question only had 5)
Do I need to call out an engineer or is this a fault I can look into myself?
Please help as I had to call out an engineer for a fault fridge freezer last month, the engineer spent 2 minutes looking at it to tell me I had a faulty compresser and it would cost +£300 pounds to replace and I was better off buying a new fridge freezer. I had to pay £85 for the privelage and don’t want to spend that kind of money if I don’t have to again.

You have a Chinese Haier machine. First three flashing means that the base tray is flooded and the flood protection system is activated. Drag it out, throw some towels down, unplug it, and tip the machine back to drain the tray. If it does it again, you need to find the leak.

Do NOT spend any money trying to repair this appliance. If it repeats the fault, you don’t need an engineer, you need to buy a decent quality machine.

If you suffer from masochistic tendencies, put ‘chinese AND dishwasher’ into the Search facility for this Forum only and prepare to be horrified.

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I will try this once the little one is in bed later on this evening.

On the plus side at least I didn’t buy the machine, it came with the kitchen when I bought the house.

I will post the results once I have tried your solution.

    Thanks again.
