    Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help advise here on capacity etc of these machines. Basically we are just in the process of buying a new home. I have noticed as the kitchen gets built that the dishwasher the builder is fitting is going to be a slimline model.

Now being a four bedroom family home I thought this was quite odd seeing as I would expect a slimline machine to be lacking in capacity for a family home of this size over a normal size machine.

The model they are fitting is a TEKA DW6-55 F1

Can anyone shed any light please on if this machine is going to be up to the job or is it the builder cutting corners? :rolls:

    Thanks for any feedback.

    Hi Scooby,

It’s a Haier slimline dishwasher in disguise. Just search the forums for “Haier dishwasher” and you’ll get the drift pretty quick. 😉

    Hi K,

Thanks very much for the feedback, does not sound to good though! So this is just a a variant of another poor design? I am just weighing up whether it would be worth going to the builder armed with this evidence…..

Manufacturer aside do you think a machine this size is fit for purpose in a 4 bedroom home?

    Regards,

Ehm, let me put it this way, I wouldn’t buy one. 😉

Fit for purpose depends on how you want to view it really. It will wash dishes, how well and for how long is a whole other debate.

Yes I get the impression it wasn’t exactly the model of choice for people in the know!

By fit for purpose I meant more whether a slimline dishwasher would realistically handle the daily loads of a family. I guess it will be a case of move in, wait for it to fail miserably, complain. :rolls:

    Appreciate your time, thanks.
