ParticipantThe above mc originally was dead, replaced the interlock and pcb, all seemed fine, i had life back etc but now the m/c just keeps filling until it starts the inlet pulsing and the board sounds like its clickin too, The yellow float seems to be activatin the microswitch as it should but no Circ pump action, I then lifted the red overflow float for a few seconds, the m/c drained as expected then the circ pump kicks in, carries on filling for a bit then cracks on as normal fine, It has done this everytime and I’ve tried it a fair few times. I’m really baffled could it be a duff board? (just thought i’d mention both microswitches appear fine, tried swappin them etc to no avail, Also the drain pump does seem a bit rough everytime it starts but does kick in after a few seconds of what seems a bit of a struggle and drains away fine, ins resistance all fine, Heater fine)
Any help would be much appreciated on this one guys.September 2, 2009 at 8:41 pm #296163Jazzmeister

Check the pipe from the sump to the fill section …it is probably gunged up with old fat and foodstuffs…pull it out from either end and clean it out….then test appliance again!
Jazz!

The model number you gave refers to an elderly Bosch that doesn’t have a PCB. 😕
You appear to be describing a much later machine with plastic base. Changing PCB’s on later m/c’s very often requires they be configured for the model number you are fitting it to, so possibly that may be the issue here?
Please run that model number by us again could you? 🙂

Mmmm thought so! Did you configure the PCB then?
Edit: Just checked on that PCB and they don’t need configuring so that’s OK. 🙂
I’d take a closer look at the float inside the pressure chamber then, it sounds as it may be sticking?

will do, i did take it apart and gave it a clean but nothing drastic in there, and it definately rises up to activate the microswitch and realeases it as should, Is there a certain period of time that the microswitch for this is active and must be switched within that?

The orange float should not rise under normal filling, if and when it does it operates the microswitch that switches on the drain pump (i.e overfill safety device).
The pressure chamber on the other hand (blue/white diaphragm device) controls the inlet and switches off the valve once the correct level is reached.
So if the float is dancing about in the chamber and switching the pump on and off intermittently then there’s a blockage in the transfer pipe to the sump causing backflow which needs a good cleaning to rectify.
HTH? 🙂

Martin, how come you’ve changed your avatar back to the old version? I thought it was LJ. Couldn’t believe how clued up, clear and concise he’d suddenly become!
( Apologies to Lee. And don’t let that bit of praise go to your head, Martin).

It appears the recent anti-spam measures put in place have prevented anyone from downloading their own personalised avatar. So I reverted back to my original one of 6 years back.
